Our aim is to assist our employees at all levels to improve their professional abilities and to develop their skills. This may take the form of on-the-job coaching, counselling and attendance at external courses or seminars. We also offer sponsorship to staff for the attainment of professional or other recognised qualifications.
Regular Performance Management Appraisals give all employees the opportunity to consider past performance and to discuss their objectives and training needs for the future.
As an example of the many varied community initiatives that we operate, we offer work experience to students from disadvantaged backgrounds, giving them an opportunity to work in a professional environment and encouraging them to aim higher. To support this goal, our Trainee Solicitor Programme accepts students from all walks of life.

Regular training in all aspects of Health and Safety is an integral part of the hlw Keeble Hawson Induction and Training Programme. Planning, monitoring and review of the implementation of our Health & Safety and fire safety policies is carried out by qualified personnel with the assistance of the legal regulatory specialists in the practice. Our Partners recognise that safety is the responsibility of everyone within the organisation and not just a function of management.
Staff at all levels, partners, solicitors, paralegals and support staff are heavily involved in local and national charity work supported by the firm. As a practice we enthusiastically participate in Comic Relief, Jeans for Genes and Wear it Pink Day every year.
Our water coolers support Aquaid. The staff social committee arranges charity, sporting and social events throughout the year.
We are committed to integrating environmental best practice into all areas of our business. We conduct our business in full knowledge of and compliance with environmental regulations. We minimise consumption of natural resources and wastage of materials wherever economically possible.
We encourage staff to car share when travelling between offices, or use public transport. We also recycle cartridges through a charitable refill scheme and our unwanted IT equipment through charitable re-users. All waste paper is recycled where possible and we only use confidential document destruction firms who also recycle. We encourage energy saving through a ‘turn it off’ initiative throughout the practice.
